Find the calm that makes you fast.
Four UK championships in three years, and still winning in Sydney's Southern Highlands today. I know what it takes to perform when everything is on the line, and I help drivers find that same calm, in the clinic, online or trackside.
What you can expect
Mental rehearsal, focus and arousal-control are well established in sport and performance psychology, and hypnosis is one of the most direct ways into them. What I add is lived experience: four UK championships across three seasons, with poles, fastest laps and outright lap records, all won by treating the mental side as seriously as the setup. I once came from 24th to 1st in 15 minutes and took the win on the line, so I know what composure under real pressure actually feels like. The talent and the seat time stay yours; I help your mind stop getting in the way of them.
What's included
Every driver who has ever strapped in knows the feeling, and I have lived it: the lap that flows when you are not thinking, and the lap that falls apart the moment you start. At club level or pro level, the car and the talent are rarely the real limit. What separates the drivers who deliver on the day from the ones who tighten up is what their mind does in the helmet.
Under real pressure the conscious mind gets loud: you brake a fraction early, you second-guess the line, you carry the mistake from turn three all the way to the flag. The red mist, the tightening grip, the tunnel vision, these are your nervous system firing the threat response when what you need is the calm, automatic part of you that already knows how to drive. That part works best when the noise is turned down.
I start with a free call to understand you and your racing, then build mental-rehearsal and state-control work around your actual circuits, starts and race scenarios, so composure becomes the default rather than something you hope for on the grid. You keep an audio to train the state between sessions. If you want it, I can also work with you at-track on a race weekend, where the pressure is real. Many drivers use this as a way into the wider Performance program.
UK, 1998 to 2000: Midland Champion in Oval Racing (1998), Super Coupe Cup Class Champion (1999), then Super Coupe Cup Class and Overall Champion (2000). Four championships in three years, plus multiple pole positions, fastest laps and outright lap records. The one I am proudest of: coming from 24th to 1st in 15 minutes and winning on the line, because that is composure, not luck.
Australia, 2019 to 2021: still racing and still winning, with multiple pole positions, class and overall wins and podiums in the Cheap Car Challenge at Pheasant Wood Circuit in Sydney's Southern Highlands. I do not teach this from theory or memory; I am living it now.
We start with a free diagnostic call to pinpoint what's really driving the pattern. From there I build a tailored plan, tailored block + optional at-track, blending clinical hypnotherapy with performance psychology, so the change holds. You'll also get an audio of every session to keep, listening back is where it gets reinforced.
This is the clinical entry point. Drivers who want hands-on race-weekend support can add at-track sessions, and step up to the full Performance program from here.
Common questions
Visualisation is part of it, but I go deeper, training the subconscious responses so focus and composure show up automatically at speed, not just when you are sitting calmly in the garage.
