Find your natural calm.
When anxiety or stress feel overwhelming, clinical hypnotherapy helps you rediscover your inherent capacity for calm, settling the patterns that keep your mind racing.
What you can expect
If you're looking for more evidence that hypnotherapy works - A 2019 meta-analysis of 17 trials (Valentine et al., International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis) found hypnosis produced a large average reduction in anxiety compared with control groups, and that it worked best when combined with other psychological approaches. That blended way of working is exactly how I approach it.
What's included
If anxiety has been running things for a while, you already know it isn't a willpower problem. You can know, logically, that you're safe, and still feel your chest tighten, your thoughts race, your sleep fray. That gap between what you know and what you feel is the whole point: the reaction lives below conscious control.
Anxiety is your threat system firing when there's no real threat, a smoke alarm going off because you made toast. Trying to argue with it rarely works, because the alarm isn't in the thinking part of your mind. It's in the older, faster, subconscious part. That's where I work.
I start with a relaxed conversation to find what's actually driving the pattern for you, not anxiety in general, yours. Then I guide you into a calm, focused state and we begin settling the response at the source, reframing the triggers that keep it firing. You stay aware and in control the whole time and will be fully awake and energised once the session is finished.
Most people need somewhere between two to four sessions. You won't become a different person, you'll become the version of you that isn't braced all the time.
We start with a free diagnostic call to pinpoint what's really driving the pattern. From there I build a tailored plan, typically 2–4 sessions, blending clinical hypnotherapy with performance psychology, so the change holds. You'll also get an audio of every session to keep, listening back is where it gets reinforced.
Common questions
Relaxation helps in the moment, but hypnotherapy goes further, changing the subconscious trigger so the anxiety stops firing in the first place, rather than just calming it after it does.
